We had 11 teams and 39 golfers. Ben Hansen, Nick Hansen and Aiden Holien were the champions with a -15 under par 57. Second place with a 61 was Darin Duvall, Rachel Duvall, Dylan Duvall and Tiffany Haider. Seth Hansen, Nolan Hansen, Craig Heil and Andrew Heil received the "Nth" place award for one of the remaining teams chosen at random. In attendance were three of our four person 2018 South Dakota Boys' B State Championship Golf team and both of our State Girls golfers, as well as many GPL alumni.
Golf was fun, but so was winning prizes. We were thankful for all the various prizes that were donated. Minnesota Twins tickets, Minnesota Lynx tickets, a table top gas grill and utensils, a McDonald's Arch Card, a GPLHS Golf package (12 golf balls, towel, tees, and markers), and a Masters' Flag and Hat package were some of the goodies drawn for and given away along with many other fun things.
Fun hole games and challenges kept the golfers on their toes. Golfers participated in long drive and long putt challenges, by wearing a pair of oven mitts to hit their drives, by throwing bean bags to a bean bag board to better their tee off position, by playing - and not losing - a certain golf ball on every hole, and by having the opportunity to purchase more mulligans at certain holes.
